Diary Day 4 - Friday Anne skips the breakfast session so she can sleep in. Still gets up before me. I do the same as yesterday: late breakfast, lounge by the pool. Lunch is with all conference folk (attendees and spouses). After lunch we are all bussed to Old San Juan. Take in the big fort. Wander the European streets looking in small shops etc. Hanging with the drug rep. She offers to buy acouple of refreshments at a street bar. We accept. Then off to the Cultural Center to have dinner and entertainment. Venue and entertainment were great, food less so. Bussed back to hotel for our pre-bed pool and hot tub dip. Day 5 - Saturday More of the same morning routine - late breakfast, pool, etc. Communal lunch again. Then we hang at the pool and the beach for the afternoon. Dinner is at the El San Juan Resort and Casino. They bus us there: about 3 blocks. White glove servers and the whole schmiel. Then dancing after dinner. Then off to the casino with the drug rep (more free drinks - god thing as they cost about $10 US each). Wander the different bars and disco - dance some - watch some gamblers (drug rep wins $100 on slots) - drinks - etc. Walk back to hotel. Bedtime pool and hot tub. |
